SPONSORED: DELUXE HAIR SPA @ JeanYipLoft

Im pretty sure JEANYIP is a name that is well known with many Singaporeans. I remember back in my early teens I used to walk past JeanYip Salons and told myself I wanna go get my hair done there someday! It just looked so polished and luxurious with its red and white interior. Well when I was 18, I went to rebond my hair at JenaYips salon (think it was at Tiong Bahru) and I left the salon, feeling like a princess!

So, I was pleasantly surprised when the lovely people at JeanYip invited me few weeks back to come check out their new one-stop flagship beauty and lifestyle centre, that boasts a whopping 7 storeys! Seriously, JeanYip has their very own beauty emporium called JEAN YIP LOFT and I must tell you, from the second you step into the building, an air of luxury and calm, totally engulfs you.
Here are some photos of the loft:

and thats not all, check out what awaits you at the ROOFTOP:

I was so dumbstruck when I saw the entire place! It was such a breath taking view! and it looked more like the rooftop of some hotel!
Hard to believe, what started off as just a neighbourhood salon 29 years ago, has now grown to be one of Singapore\’s leading hair and beauty groups with over 60 outlets islandwide! Impressive!

So what is the JEAN YIP LOFT all about?
Its said to be a “unique lifestyle concept, offering a host of beauty and wellness services such as scalp treatments, facial, massage, spa, nail services for BOTH men and women.”

Speaking of scalp treatments, JeanYip kindly sponsored me a session of their DELUXE HAIR SPA/SCALP MASK worth S$250.00
Ok some of you may ask “WHAT?? $250 for a scalp mask?”  Well, If you\’re anything like me, you\’d love to go all out and pamper yourself once in a while. All work and no plays…well you know the rest. 🙂
I personally felt like I was on vacation, throughout the whole time. Firstly because the atmosphere was so calming. Secondly, during the duration of my treatment, which took TWO HOURS, soothing tranquil tunes were played in the background and I was alone in the private hair spa corner. and the treatment? oh I just wanna go back again! I felt totally at ease, so much so that I dozed off a couple of times! It also helps that the lovely lady who tended to me, Pinky, was so good at the massage. Firm, yet not too painful. And when everything was over, I felt refreshed and energized..VERY energized! My family even asked me why I was so talkative and hyper that night and I told them it must have been the hair spa I went for!

Here are some photos:

And how did my hair look AFTER the treatment??

Will I go back again? Do I think its worth it? I think S$250 on a full scalp treatment, together with a shoulder, neck and back massage, followed by hair wash and blowdry, is most definitely invigorating and worth every penny. Im considering going back there this year end to give myself a TREAT since December is one of my busiest periods with bridals and other client appointments and I will surely need a break after December! 🙂However, if you are on a tighter budget, fret not, JeanYipLoft has so many other services:

LOOSE POWDER

and the star of the show..
 CREAM COMPACT FOUNDATION!

I tried out the Cream foundation yesterday:

My overall thoughts:
Im a foundation junkie. Im VERY particular about foundations. When a foundation is a perfect match for my skin, it leaves me smiling with glee! But when the foundation doesnt match, it upsets me especially because I think my skintone represents the average medium beige skintone. So when I tested the foundation on my hand first, It looked like it wasnt gonna work for me but when I applied it and blended it out, it flawlessly blended with my skintone. and it didnt leave any weird “after oxidising” tone. So the CREAM FOUNDATION has definitely received a THUMBS UP from me so far. The BRUSH that comes along with the foundation, is probably a big key factor of the product but Im NOT a fan of using brushes to apply foundation so It doesnt really matter to me. I just use it to apply the foundation n and then I use my regular foundation sponges to blend out.
Ive yet to try the LIQUID FOUNDATION but so far I impressed with its creamy texture, and that the LIQUID n CREAM foundations come in a variety of shades, and the DARKEST shade, looks suitable if you\’re a MAC NC45 shade, or darker. The loose powder however only came in 4 shades, and even the darkest shade looked a wee bit too white for me(see my swatch above). So I didnt bother using it on my face. Instead I brought it along for one of my magazine shoots and it was perfect for my fair  model.

Products to be launched island wide on 29th AUGUST 2011

Changi Airport’s FABULOUS FRIDAYS!

Changi Airport has been a familiar sight for me, ever since I was a little girl. My daddy\’s a pilot and I fondly remember the days my mummy would bring us to the airport and wait for daddy to come through those glass doors, looking sharp in his Pilot uniform.

But earlier this week, I got to learn SO MUCH more about Changi Airport! Normally when we take a flight, we check in about an hour earlier, do some shopping in Duty Free and then head straight to our flights. Infact sometimes when Im flying, I have just enough time to check in and walk straight to the gates.
But ever wondered what people in transit would do? Or if your flight got an hour or more delayed?
Would you be bored to death? Hell no!

5 of us bloggers were given a PRIVATE tour throughout the TRANSIT AREAS of Terminal 1, 2, and 3 of Changi Airport and we not only learnt so much more abt the place, but got to SHOPPPPP without the usual 7% GST! WOOHOO!!

Did you know that Changi Airport has over 300 retail and service outlets available for passengers?? Apart from the crazy amount of shops, or restaurants, there\’s even FIVE gardens inside the terminals, more than 500 free internet stations, Fish Spa & Reflexology, a mini Movie Theatre, HardRock Cafe, a ROOFTOP SWIMMING POOL, and so much more! I was blown away to know how advanced out Airoport is, and they really do cater to the needs of the passengers!

But what about the rest of us who are NOT FLYING?? Do we still get to enjoy GST-ABSORBED shopping??
YES WE DO! even if you\’re not flying,
you can still purchase items at the public area, at 7% cheaper!

Do you still need more reasons WHY you should shop at Changi Airport\’s PERFUMES&COSMETICS outlets??
– Prices are up to 40% CHEAPER than the prices downtown
– You get TRAVEL SIZED products for various brands/products
– They bring in the VERY BEST in beauty to consumers, with

oh and we were treated to a lovely Fish Spa experience too! Did you know that REFRESH BODYWORKS Fish Spa & Reflexology are SUPER generous to passengers? The rate would be $22 for 20mins BUT if the passengers still have time before their flight and wanna stay on, they CAN, at NO ADDITIONAL COST! RachelK Cosmetics launches at WATSONS

Rachel Kum needs no introduction. She was Miss Singapore Universe 2009, and also a dear friend of mine. When she told me about the launch of her cosmetic line last year, I was so thrilled for her!
Click HERE for my past review on her products.

Rachel hosted a lil private affair for a few of us last night at Marina Bay Sands to celebrate the launch of her products at WATSONS. It was only available online previously and at selected places. So this was definitely good news as…well firstly because its more easily available to the masses…and cuz I LOVE watsons!

Us with the lovely Rachel Kum

One of the newest products that RachelK Cosmetics has launched, is the Mineral Colour Control Blemish Balm.(S$35) If you read my blog often, you\’d know Im not a fan of BB creams. Mainly cuz the shades never work for my skin tone. The CC, or ColourControl, however, is different because it can be blended till its almost invisible on the skin. I say ALMOST because you can see the difference in your skin looking more radiant, once the CC cream has been blended and applied onto the skin

Another new product, is the Mineral Colour Control Blemish- Pressed Powder(S$38)

It only comes in THREE shades tho, and Im using “DEEP” which is the darkest shade.

I used the pressed powder today and from 1pm till 8pm, I didnt require a single touch up!

And finally, super yummy lip plumpers! These glosses are DIVINE! I had them on today and theey smelt SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO minty and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO yummy!! I love!!!

RachelK Cosmetics are now available at selected Watsons, I saw them at BUGIS WATSONS today! Spend a m
inimum of $70 on RachelK cosmetics, and you get the lip plumper FREE!

EVENT INVITE: Loreal Curl Impact Collagene Mascara

I was invited to check out Loreal’s new Curl Impact Collagene Mascara, recently. It was a lovely and cozy event.

The new mascara by Loreal boasts THIRTEEN TIMES MORE volume, and this always excites me as I feel my lashes are already long enough but you can NEVER go wrong with extra volume!

Another unique feature about this mascara is that its mascara wand has TWO different sides!

The FIRST thing I recall about the mascara, was when the presenter mentioned: “You can throw away your eyelash curlers once you have this mascara!” Thats because this new product will ensure your lashes stay curled, through out the day! I decided to put the mascara to the test and so I tried using the mascara, without an eyelash curler…something I NEVER EVER do cuz there’s no point in applying thick coats of mascara if your lashes are not even curled up nicely!

And there you have it!
Without an eye lash curler, the curl lasted through out the day, and my lashes were more thicker and longer.

Any product that takes away an additional step, is a BONUS, if you ask me!
You can get your hands on this amazing mascara at WATSONS and other LOREAL counters
